A tragic accident claimed the life of a staff member from Koforidua Senior High Technical School (SecTech) on Saturday. The incident occurred at Asseseso in the Okere District of the Eastern Region, as the staff members were traveling to Akosombo for the funeral of a colleague's wife.
The cause of the accident remains unclear, but eyewitnesses report that the bus overturned while navigating a sharp curve on Asseseso hill. The bus veered off the road and plunged into the bush, resulting in the unfortunate death of one person.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service and Ambulance Service arrived promptly to rescue the victims trapped inside the bus. Several passengers sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Yilo Krobo Government Hospital for urgent medical attention. Those with minor injuries received treatment and were subsequently discharged.
This heartbreaking event has left the Koforidua SecTech community in mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of their colleague and the traumatic experience endured by those involved in the crash.
