North Tongu Legislator Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has firmly denied Bryan Acheampong's assertion that he lacks evidence to support his claims about Rock City Hotel's financial difficulties.

Ablakwa previously alleged that Rock City Hotel, owned by Bryan Acheampong, was operating at a loss and therefore unfit to acquire the profitable SSNIT hotels. He also claimed the hotel failed to file its tax returns for 2022.

In response, Bryan Acheampong dismissed these allegations on Onua FM, asserting that Ablakwa was exaggerating and had no such documents. He even went as far as to challenge Ablakwa, promising to gift him a house and a hotel if he could prove the claims with documents showing Rock City Hotel’s losses.

Acheampong stated, "If he indeed has documents that prove that Rock City Hotel filed its 2023 taxes and we are making losses, let him bring it. If it’s true, I have a house at Trassaco, it’s new and unused. I bought it in 2014, and I will gift it to him, and if he wants to also gift it to an NGO, on his orders, I’ll make that happen, all Ghanaians be my witness."

In a subsequent interview on The Keypoints, Ablakwa reiterated his position, stating he had the necessary documents to back his claims. He emphasized that as a lawmaker, he does not make statements without evidence.

"I can prove to Bryan Acheampong that he clearly does not know what he is talking about. If he has been following our work in Parliament, he should have known we don’t speak to what we don’t have. We mean it if we say we have intercepted documents," Ablakwa asserted.

To support his argument, Ablakwa shared the documents with Alfred Ocansey, host of The Keypoints, showcasing his commitment to transparency and accountability. He also referenced a previous instance where he provided evidence contradicting Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s statements about funding the National Cathedral.

Ablakwa's stance highlights the importance of evidence-based discourse in political debates, urging for clarity and accountability in public statements.
