Majority Calls for End to Misinformation Campaigns by Minority

In a fervent exchange highlighting divergent views within Parliament, the Majority has leveled accusations against the Minority, alleging that their dissemination of misinformation poses a threat to the nation's economy.

The Majority caucus has condemned what they perceive as the Minority's reckless actions, asserting that their continuous dissemination of false information is driving away potential investors and undermining economic stability.

On the other hand, the Minority has raised concerns regarding the government's adherence to financial regulations, particularly regarding the awarding of contracts without parliamentary approval, as stipulated by the Public Financial Management Act.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, has questioned the government's funding sources for major projects, such as the dualization of the Kasoa-Winneba section of the Accra-Cape Coast highway.

In response, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Majority Leader, addressed journalists, emphasizing that not all contracts require parliamentary approval, especially those of an international nature. He accused the Minority of misleading the public and engaging in fear-mongering tactics that could deter potential investors and impede economic progress.

Afenyo-Markin urged for a factual and constructive dialogue, emphasizing the importance of presenting accurate information rather than resorting to falsehoods that could sabotage the nation's economy, especially in the midst of an election year.

As the discourse continues, the call for transparency, accountability, and adherence to regulatory frameworks remains paramount, ensuring the integrity of economic policies and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth and development.
