In a tragic turn of events, two Okada riders lost their lives while performing stunts at a colleague’s funeral in Enyan Asempayin, Ajumako Enyan Essiam District. The deceased, identified as Kwasi Godfred and Rasta, were participating in a funeral procession for their friend, Daniel Nyarkoh, a 23-year-old Okada rider who had died in an accident.
Following the retrieval of Nyarkoh’s body from the mortuary, the group of Okada riders began performing stunts in the township of Enyan Asempayin. The former Assemblyman for the area, Charles Kwame Amoasi, confirmed the incident to Adom News, highlighting the dangerous nature of the display.
Amoasi explained that the leader of the Okada riders, also named Charles Amoasi, had offered a prize of money and alcohol for the best stunt. This incentive led the young riders to engage in increasingly perilous maneuvers.
Tragically, during one of these stunts, Kwasi Godfred and Rasta collided at high speed, resulting in their instantaneous deaths. The community is now mourning the loss of three young men in a short span, underscoring the dangers of such risky behaviors.
